The Met, Bury

The Met is an arts centre in the centre of Bury, Greater Manchester. Hosting over 200 touring shows each year, the venue is regularly within the PRS top 40 UK venues despite being a small scale venue.

The Met receives regular funding from Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation and Bury Council as a contributor to social development, tourism and Education in the borough.

The Met incorporates 2 performance spaces, a recording studio, a workshop programme and restaurant with a strong vision for its role as an arts centre with a commitment to its audiences and it contribution to a thriving arts industry.

In 2016, The venue underwent a £4.6M refurbishment which saw all spaces transformed to create a venue fit for purpose to present incredible arts and music for audiences throughout the North.

IN 2020 The Met closed it doors to the public due to Covid 19 however continued to reach audiences through a revised digital strategy reaching global audiences. In 2024 we continue to build new and diverse audiences with an engaging and innovative touring programme which values opportunities for regional emerging talent.
